Dr. Judith Reese

Judith Reese, Ph.D., has worked with hearing impaired people in the Tampa Bay area since 1990.  Dr. Reese was employed by the Veterans Administration from 1995 to 2005. Prior to that, she worked in Tampa Bay area nursing homes providing aural rehabilitation to residents who were hard of hearing or deaf, and helped their families and nurses better communicate with them.  She earned her Ph. D. from the University of South Florida, where she completed an interdisciplinary program in Cognitive and Neural Psychology and Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Dr. Reese taught audiology and speech pathology students at the University of South Florida and has published several articles on hearing aid use. The Hearing Journal praised Dr. Reese’s research in their Best of 2005 edition as being of primary importance to hearing aid clinicians. She has presented her research to audiences of audiologists, speech and hearing scientists, hearing aid specialists, and hearing aid wearers throughout the United States.  Dr. Reese received the 2004 Outstanding Performance Award from the Veterans Administration for significantly contributing to the mission of the VA by substantially exceeding performance requirements.  She was previously awarded Clinician of the Year for her work with nursing home residents.

At JC Audiology, Dr. Reese provides audiological evaluations in a spacious sound booth according to the guidelines of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association and the American Academy of Audiology.  She prescribes hearing aids and assistive listening devices, conducts hearing aid fittings and aural rehabilitation, offers hearing aid supplies and repairs, and other audiological services.  At JC Audiology, one can also obtain information and education on hearing loss prevention and tinnitus. Dr. Reese is the only independent professional of national renown providing this level of service in the area.  She is:
