YIKES!!! I'VE LOST MY HEARING AIDS!!!

Relax, there's an app for that!

Every few weeks someone calls our clinic to report that they lost their hearing aids. This, of course, can be quite distressing for anyone who depends on their devices to connect them with the world. In one week in April we received such a call, and the patient was very concerned because he was soon heading on a trip out of the country. But, after a couple of hours the patient called back with great news: he found his missing hearing aid using the app on his made-for-iPhone-hearing aids. His phone pointed him to where his hearing aids were, and a happy reunion soon followed!

FREE SCREENINGS FRIDAY IN MAY--BETTER HEARING MONTH!

May is Better Hearing Month, and Tampa Bay's premier audiology clinic is providing free hearing screenings on Fridays during the month.  JC Audiology has cleared the schedule on Fridays to accommodate adults who wish to have a hearing screening to determine how their hearing health is.

“Just as adults should get periodic health check ups, or their eyes checked,”  Dr. Judith L. Reese, chief audiologist at JC Audiology says, “They should also get an idea how their hearing is serving them.  Health researchers are learning more each year on the importance that hearing is on an individual’s overall physical and mental health, so a hearing check up is a good way to start.”
In addition to Dr. Reese, JC Audiology recently added Dr. Jennifer Steed to the staff.  The clinic sees hundreds of new patients every year, and averages over 100 hearing devices serviced monthly at their Tampa Bay Hearing Aid Hospital.

“Every month we average about 20 hearing aids brought in that people say stopped working.”  Dr. Reese explains.  “We are able to revive more than 95% of them!”

Both Dr. Reese and Dr. Steed are doctoral level audiologists who graduated from the University of South Florida, and who have worked for large institutions for a combined 40 years of providing quality hearing health care locally.

One Month, Hundreds of Hearing Aids Serviced!

Since dedicating Dr. Reese’s Tampa Bay Hearing Aid Hospital at our new facility in April 2017, we have averaged over 100 hearing aids serviced a month! In fact, about a dozen hearing aids per month are dropped off by patients who say the devices have stopped working. That’s not an unusual number considering that these miniature electronic devices often develop moisture-related problems due to the active lifestyle of our patients and the fact that we live in a very humid climate. What is unusual is our success rate in reviving dead hearing aids.
We revive close to 100% of the non-working hearing aids we service.

Proper care and maintenance of your hearing aids prolongs their life and keeps you hearing your best.
JC Audiology patients value the service schedule we provide for hearing aids that are under warranty.

With over 100 hearing aids serviced every month in the Tampa Bay Hearing Aid Hospital, we ensure the best quality care as we inspect and service 29 points of hearing aid areas of maintenance. Moreover, nearly all hearing aids are serviced in one day.

If your hearing aids aren’t working as well as you think they should, call us at 813-949-1331 for the best service available!
